Professional visual artist Ritva M.A. Airaksinen lives and works presently in the most beautiful part of central Finland, the town of Keuruu.
Ecologial way of life, conserving natural resources is close to her heart. Ritva attempts to do her part in living sensibly, not wasting nor overly consuming.

Her element is water. That theme has stayed with her over 20 years and still keeps inspiring her art. She works with paint, acrylic and oil, digital photography. Sculpting with the experimental materials is part of her exploration with the forms. Always looking to learn something new, she has undertaken digital photography with great enthusiasm. You can see some results on this site, photos as such, as well as the creatively manipulated pictures.
She exhibits internationally:
- Firenze Biennale Internazionale Dell`Arte Contemporanea 2005 invited her to participate
- exhibiton in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain
- art show in New York City
and tens of solo exhibitions in Finland, including Helsinki. In addition to that she has organized and imported several international art shows to central Finland. And she has participated in many group exhibitions.
Resident of New York 1972 - 1988 Ritva Airaksinen was fortunate to study arts in the School of Visual Arts 1976-1980 (considered to be one of the very best art schools in the world).
Previously the artist did teach part of the year; art, creativity and English conversation - now she is employed full time on her own managing the various aspects of her art business.
